Great Minds of Science is the first book in a new graphic novel series “that celebrates the lives of Black innovators and legends and helps bring these histories to life.”
Graphic novels have a way of making information more accessible to a broad audience. And that’s exactly the case with Great Minds of Science, which is a fantastic nonfiction read. Wilkerson’s colorful illustrations are bold and inviting. And Bolden’s text has an almost conversational tone.
The one drawback of this book is the print size of the text, which is quite small. That could be off-putting for struggling readers.
That said, Great Minds of Science is a book a lot of readers will happily devour.
