This week is National Library Week (April 14-20), and today is Support Teen Literature Day. If you’re visiting Cracking the Cover, chances are, you love books. Some of my first memories of reading are tied to visits to my local library. Please take time this week, if you haven’t already, and celebrate this valuable asset.
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
Learn more about the children’s libraries: In “Miss Moore Thought Otherwise,” author Jan Pinborough and illustrator Debby Atwell tell the story of one of the people who brought libraries and children together. Read Cracking the Cover’s interview with Jan.
